St Johns Road, Huddersfield - January 2015

Whilst pottering around the old Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, Kirklees College a chance bump into a group of fellow photographers tipped us off on a roll through pigeon shit in the rain into this derelict industrial site on the road out of Huddersfield.

Tbolt and myself pulled up for a wander around this death trap of building to round our day off in Yorkshire. Sadly a schoolboy error meant we didn't see as much of the building as we could have, as elderly gentlemen we forgot the full instructions from the kindly photographers until we set off home in the car.

Huddersfield Royal Infirmary & Kirklees College - January 2016

Start the New Year on the tourist trail I say, and so we did. Tbolt and myself hopped into this now very popular Yorkshire spot in the heart of the area now know as Happy Valley.

This now disused building closed its doors in only 2013, once hospital, once college, now sits rapidly rotting and is occasionally used as a film location - it is vast and a maze corridors and stairwells.

For this little explore we will stick to the older part of the building, through its darkened corridors.

An excellent explore, with a full on scare for all who enter giving it an 8/10 and chance encounter with another photographer sent us on to our next Huddersfield destination,

Reins Mill - Huddersfield - November 2013

Another quick hop over the Lancashire border into sunny Yorkshire, with the first frost of the Autumn melting in the overly bright morning sunshine.

Meeting up with Zer081 and another pleasant chap FocusOnScot (who shoots with film).

Being part of a larger active mill, the empty section we visited had been previously vacated in 2003 by Holme Valley Paterns Limited and a lower section vacated in about 2009 by an MOT station.

A rather neat and tidy place, mostly watertight and enough little bits to hold your interest with a nice layer of dust, cobwebs and pigeon poo.

We left as we found it and bid the place farewell, as it sits waiting to become another bloody Morrisons.

First Electric, Linthwaite - August 2013

What can we say, four walls with a roof, sat next to a mill on the main road.

With the door ajar and obviously abandoned looking at its semi derelict state we popped our head in, not much to say other than shit graffiti and obviously being used by someone to fly tip.

A few shots and we left.

Sybro Spinning, Slaithwaite - August 2013

A trip into Yorkshire, the day hadn't gone well so far and well to be honest it just nosedived at this point.

Looks like we had been a few days late and sadly this mill was no more, the local fire starters had been to work and torched the place - the smell of burning still lingering.

So long Colne Mill, Slaithwaite
