Melba, Bury - September 2017

This place was one of my very first explores back in 2012. Interesting to go back and reflect on the change in both the building and my photography - here is the first report.

On this latest trip I visited with Tbolt.

Not much history, closed donkeys years ago, used to make traffic cones, the company still trades from another location.

Strangely found it rather good this second time around, but then sometimes its simply the company you keep that makes an explore. 6/10 (point deducted for size).

Rockwood Pigments, Matlock Bath - April 2017

A busy Bank Holiday Weekend, a cheeky monkey entrance trying to avoid the tourists. What could go wrong ? Well nothing really, it was just a little bit poo.

Visited with Tbolt and Snapt.

Sat on the side of the river, under the cliffs of High Tor in Matlock Bath is this long closed pigment factory, cable cars sail overhead.

It was at this point we spotted the open cave entrance and we could not resist having a nosey and in we went. Shortly in we spotted some illicit mining and the roof seemed to be held up by some amateur Jenga puzzle. Tbolt turned to comment and the puzzle moved and a section of wood fell on the floor.

This may have been an elaborate ploy to keep people out, it worked.

Croda Chemicals, Bromborough - February 2016

We visited Croda Chemicals over in Bromborough back in December 2015, a sprawling site of an industrial chemical plant, administration blocks and workshops, an excellent mooch was had by all.

February 2016 and Blober fancied a trip up into England for a look see, we joined Blober for some Mersey derp, being myself, Tbolt and Blacksnake.

Arriving on site most of the buildings had been demolished and we found contractors undertaking "extra curricular activities" for a bit of extra pocket money. It's amazing how health and safety goes out the window when contractors think no one is watching.

Still rather good, although somewhat smaller 7/10 and disappearing very fast.
