Duke of Lancaster - media outbreak !!

As a recap on my post of earlier in the week, it would seem the council prepares to stand firm as a media trickle turns to a frenzy.

"Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape"

The drip, drip of coverage in the local press coverage is now turning to a torrent nationally, first the Daily Mail then the next day another national paper with massive coverage Metro with the upmarket broadsheets
The Guardian  and The Telegraph also featuring the many colours of the Duke of Lancaster.

The story of the Duke of Lancaster now slowly begins to creep across Europe, featuring in the Italian newspaper Repubblica

 The Duke of Lancaster

As interest grows in the Duke of Lancaster only time will tell if Flintshire Country Council will work with DOLAS, DuDug and the owners of the ship to help save the ship, instead to working against them.

We now enter interesting times, the world is now watching.....

The Duke of Lancaster and its artwork can be viewed at Mostyn, North Wales from the Welsh Coast Path, with close car parking at postcode CH8 9DX, it now has a growing list of talented international artists queuing up to exhibit work on the ship, its a trip well worth making.

Duke of Lancaster - Bungle - October 2012

As part of my ongoing personal project to document the "Black Duke of Lancaster Project" by Dudug I returned to Wales to photograph the new artwork addition by Bungle, titled The Voice of Authority.

Must say, I'm still a frustrated I can't get closer to the ship and get some new angles, but its still a bloody great place for shots.

The ship did have a guest photographer, which gives a sense of scale to the ship - lucky bugger !

A return trip by plane is still on the cards, just waiting for a little more graffiti to be done to make it worthwhile.

More to follow....

A Return to the Duke of Lancaster - August 2012

Anyone who regularly reads my blog knows I have a soft spot for the Duke of Lancaster, the ghost ship of Mostyn, North Wales - take a look at my aerial shots.

Having seen heard the rumours, seen the artists website, Jdub and I jumped in the car for a noisey.

The artists webpage Dudug, makes out that they beat security and they are counting down to something special happening on the night of  27th August.

We arrived early Sunday morning and nice artwork, but it was obvious it was done with agreement of the owners of the ship, given the height of the artwork and the new notices posted around the site (printed on plastic).

It was at this time security turned by, but given that we were on a public footpath he shouted to us "do you like it !?"

Continuing to the "beach" we walked across the rocks, the tide was out and the security razor wire ended, so rightly or wrongly we wandered to the bow of the ship - as you would...

It was at this point the security guard turned up and told us we were trespassing and told us to leave, not sure if we were or not, it was borderline in my mind, we didn't argue.

- Dear owners if your now courting publicity (as it would seem) put some new security wire up on the beach, to avoid any confusion.
