Huncoat Power Station - August 2015

An overdue return to the guilty pleasure that is Huncoat Power Station.

Visited with with Tbolt and two non exploring photography students, I wasn't going to post these pics, but why the hell not.

Let us have a sniff around

I think we need to round up a team for some wool spinning again, we walked from our last session at Huncoat with cracking shots, but that was two years ago.....

Huncoat Powerstation - Wire Wool - Sept 2013

Previously we have done a bit of wire wool spinning underground, previously we have photographed the classic derp pit that is Huncoat Powerstation, time to mix it up a bit with an evening meet in the wilds of Lancashire.

The Autumn rolling in with the dark nights to become a plenty my fellow fire starters gathered, ZerO81, Jdub, Cloakedup and Nickynackynoo.

It had been a long time since previous wool spinning endeavours and with practice makes perfect it was a the ideal place with nothing left to burn down.

Sparks a plenty.

Somethings worked, some failed. all trial and error, but with a team effort it came together with some shots better than others.

Special thanks to Nickynackynoo for pushing the idea, I'd been wanting to do this for years at Huncoat and although it took a few weeks to pull together we got there in the end.

PS, I still stand by wire wool spinning being the best fun you can have with a camera.

Huncoat hits the news

Not a good day, well in one respect the old power station is highlighted for the ongoing graffiti fest that that it is, I'm a big fan of Huncoat and it was one of my first explores.

But sadly on the other side, people sit up and before we know it a new big fence will no doubt spring up around the site - please noooooo !!!!

- Thanks to Phil Plod for the photo !

So the debate is on, or so they say in the Lancashire Telegraph

- Personally I hope the powers that be leave the place alone, Huncoat is a centre for graffiti artists to battle it out and photographers from around the country visit this place, the site has also often used for photo shoots for sportswear catalogues.

Long live Huncoat !!!!

For the record, if you have read the article (or your from the Lancashire Telegraph) explorers and graffiti artists co-exist, they are not one and the same. If in doubt the explorers are the ones with the cameras not the spray cans.

Further Huncoat info can be found here on my previous Huncoat posting.
