A meet up with Captain Pugwash at Barton Airport, Manchester and off we shot to chase and catch up with a fellow pilot from Barton.
The route was to Bolton, then over the Peninnes into Yorkshire and across to the Northumberland coast.
We had a landing at Eshott Airfield, a former training centre for Spitfire pilots, It was a quick stop over for a mug of coffee and a loo break.
The return journey took us across into the Scottish borders and back home to Manchester via the English Lake District.
A lot of photos taken of the journey, most I will save for another day - so here is Northumberland in all its glory.
Alnwick Castle - Hogwarts from the Harry Potter films
Longstone Lighthouse, Farne Islands
Coquet Island, Northumberland
Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland
So watch this space for more of the journey in due course, including the spectacular Lake District mountains....
